Our Baobab Weekender is an oversized, handwoven bag made from baobab bark and natural plant-based dyes. This limited edition bag is finished with beautiful, dark brown leather.

An extraordinary tote bag handcrafted by skilled artisans from the Ikavu Weavers Collective in Kenya. Made from sustainably sourced baobab bark, and crafted using traditional East African weaving techniques.

The woven baobab features an intricate pattern in earthy colors including brown, tan, and charcoal grey.

Beautifully finished with round carrying handles and a long, adjustable strap. The hand stitched leatherwork is done with naturally tanned leather. This minimally processed, vegetable tanned leather has a warm, dark brown hue.

This roomy tote is what I call a super shopper. Probably the largest Ikavu bag we've created so far. Change of clothes, yoga mat? No problem! This extra large bag can hold more than you need. It's open at the top, in a classic basket or tote bag style. Makes a great weekend bag, and is ready to take on all your adventures.

Dimensions are as follows:

The sides are 17" tall
The bag is about 23" across at the widest point when lying flat
The circumference is 46"
17" diameter across the top
12" diameter across the bottom

The strap is approximately 32" long (adjustable)
The round handles are 5" across and have a handle drop of 5"

This huge tote basket is a stunning work of art, special enough to be a collectors item, yet also very functional as a travel tote or market bag. Please note that due to the traditional weaving techniques and natural materials we use to create our products, slight variations in color and pattern may occur. This is part of the unique, handcrafted nature of each of our bags and baskets.

Your purchase from Ikavu helps empower women weavers and artisans in Kenya.
